Training with Miss Canada Globe Productions
Miss Canada Globe Productions is a pageant that does not require previous experience. When you show up to the pageant, you show up as yourself and you are representing you, your family, your sponsors and your community!
Miss Canada Globe Productions helps you with the rest! The first three days of your stay will be spent training and preparing for the Regional Assessment Show. Usually you arrive at the Toronto Don Valley Hotel & Suites on a Wednesday and on Thursday morning the pageant officially begins (yes, they will tell you that you must be there on the Wednesday regardless of where you are from). Thursday - Saturday is considered 'Regionals' and this is when your training takes place.
MCGP will have given you a list of specific and non-specific items to pack including makeup, hair supplies, specific colour dress (for finals), specific colour swimsuit (for finals) and so on. It is highly recommended that you follow this packing guide because it can be frustrating for staff and fellow contestants when someone is unprepared.

Makeup & Hair Training
Miss Canada Globe Productions has professional hair and makeup artists that will be available for certain events during the National Pageant week. However, they will not be available for every event and you must have your hair and makeup done for every event because you never know who your judges will be and you always want to look your best!
Therefore, MCGP will offer makeup and hair training and eventually you will be judged on how well you do your own hair and makeup and these scores will help determine your regional title at the Regional Assessment Show. A brief list of items that is highly recommended; - Straightener/Curling Iron/Wand/Blow Dryer - Hairspray & Heat Protection Spray - Dry Shampoo (Obviously Shampoo & Conditioner) - Foundation/Concealer/Powder - Bronzer/Contour Kit/Blush/Highlighter - Eyeshadows/Eyeliners/Mascara/Eyebrow Pencil - Mascara & False Lashes (Eyelash Extensions won't cut it) |
Confidence Training
Miss Canada Globe is the only pageant that offers this special kind of training. It truly is an amazing experience to go through confidence training. Many contestants will say that they don't think that they will come away from the pageant as a changed young woman but you will surprise yourself!
"You gain so much confidence [with MCGP], it's unlike anything I've ever experienced before. You feel like you can do things you couldn't do before and you feel like you truly have a voice. You become so much more comfortable in your own skin and in who you are as a woman" - Shayna Canfield, Miss Canada Globe 2017 |
Platform & Interview Training
One of the requirements at the Miss Canada Globe Regional & National pageants is to provide a platform statement. Your platform is the cause or charity you would like to work with during your year of reign as a regional, provincial or national titleholder. It is a good idea to have a charity organization that you would like to work with and it might even be a good idea to reach out to them and let them know you would like to volunteer and that you will be competing for Miss Canada/Miss Teen Canada/Miss Canada Petite. It is also a good idea to know some statistics and facts about your platform. At the beginning of Nationals Week, you will be required to deliver a (very brief, don't worry!) speech about your platform. MCGP will offer you pointers and advice on how to speak clearly for this.
A major part of any pageant is the Interview (Question & Answer) portion. There is a Regional Interview where you walk into a room with some judges and they ask you some questions. The scores on this interview help to determine your title at the Regional Assessment competition. It seems scary but it really isn't too bad! There is also a Nationals Interview where you walk in with some judges and they ask you similar questions to the previous interview. Similarly to the Regional Interview, your scores will be added to your Nationals score (high scores will help you make the Top 10 at Finals). Finally, there is an on-stage interview. Should you have the opportunity to make the Top 5 at Finals, you will be asked an on-stage question and will be scored to help determine the winner of the National Title! Fortunately, MCGP helps you properly answer these questions and teaches you how to answer them in a professional way. You will have time and opportunities to practice. It is recommended that you look up pageant questions in your category and know where your personal standpoint is in certain situations.

Walk & Pose Training
As you may or may not already know, the way you walk in a pageant says a lot about your confidence level. Not to worry, MCGP will help you perfect your walk and proper posing techniques while on stage. Fashion Runway walking, energetic swimsuit competition walking as well as elegant evening gown walking, are all important things that MCGP will help you with! Posing, turning and knowing when to look at the judges are also important parts of stage presence that Miss Canada Globe Productions will help you to perfect!
