Fee's
First of all, it is important to understand that nothing is for free.
Pageants can be an expensive experience but let me tell you they are worth it. Any fees are understandable when you learn about what they go toward and what is included.
Also, fees can be covered by sponsors and donations. Should you become a finalist, MCGP will send you a package of documents including a Welcome Letter which you can use as proof of participation in the pageant. You will also receive a sash stating that you are a finalist with your year and category (ex. Miss Teen Canada Globe 2018 National Finalist). It is recommended that you bring these items as well as the Sponsorship Kit (which you will also receive from MCGP) when you visit possible Sponsors.
You can visit the place of employment that you hope to sponsor you. Wear your sash as well as a clean, professional-looking outfit and bring your documents. If the organization you are hoping to receive sponsorship from is far away or closed, you can send a professional email explaining that you are a finalist for MCGP and politely ask if they would like to sponsor you. In the documents you receive from MCGP it will state that depending on the amount of sponsorship that you receive, the company will have a certain size advertisement in the program book.
If a company agrees to donate money/sponsor you, they will receive a tax-receipt from MCGP after the pageant. Always thank them. Remember that if someone sponsors you, you are now representing THEIR company, so always act and speak professionally.
Another great way to raise money is hosting fundraisers and raffles. Below is a list of ideas to raise money with family, friends and community members:
